Diana made a keynote speech at the 19th Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference in Mariehamn, Åland Island recently. In the speech she reiterated the important role of parliamentarians in defining policy, reminding the Conference how she had urged them in Lithuania several years before to put pressure on their MEPS to help develop policy in the Baltic Sea region. She said she was delighted to say that this pressure had a direct result in the development of the EU's strategy for the Baltic Sea region.
